This beautiful 1946 Cessna 120 was thoroughly gone through with lots of improvements and upgrades in April 2022. It was intended to go into service as a tailwheel trainer but since then only was used by professional pilots as a transportation to and from various jobs. Many new parts were installed and new parts and accessories are included.
Aircraft suffered an uncommanded power loss and landed on a road. No damage was caused to the airplane. Engine was disassembled and a failed crankshaft was discovered. Currently, this aircraft is being offered as is with various additional parts.
This aircraft was a flying airplane until November 2022 when a camshaft failure resulted in a power loss. The airplane sustained no damage during an emergency landing on a road. The aircraft was disassembled and transported by professionals to our shop. The engine was disassembled and a failed camshaft was discovered. The remained of the engine appears unaffected by the failed camshaft.
In December 2021 It went through a multi month inspection and repairs to conform to our quality standards. The aircraft itself is fairly low time. The engine was last “overhauled” (log books say rebuilt) in 1975 and have only accumulated 263 hrs since then.
This aircraft is not equipped with any radios or transponder. A handheld radio was used and a 2 place battery powered intercom is installed.
